MDS Shiva is a PhD Research Scholar in the Social Work Department of Pondicherry Central University in South India. He has completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) in Pondicherry Central University in April 2010. Shiva was born and brought up in Chinna Muthaliyar Chavady (Dalit) Village on the Coastal Villupuram District of Tamil Nadu. Shiva developed the Children’s Collective (CC) with help of his guru and child rights leader Mr. Suresh Darma in 2007. This collective of village children have continued to come together regularly with adult mentorship to ensure child rights and social justice for all without discrimination at the village level.Shiva also works collaboratively with CLP-USA to lead in the continual innovation of the program, strengthening of international relationships and development of what he calls a “global CLP family.” In the future, Shiva intends to intiate new child protection models for children in difficult circumstances in a local and global effort to create a more inclusive and safe society for all children.
